JOB SUMMARY
The Speech Pathologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for patient evaluation and treatment planning, supervision of interns, and maintaining productivity levels. The Speech Pathologist must also exhibit effective leadership skills, coordination with other therapy disciplines, and adherence to regulations while demonstrating problem-solving abilities and ensuring patient satisfaction through skillful clinical decisions.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervisory:
Supervises student interns.
Clinical:
Maintains productivity level at department target.
Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Speech Pathology.
Clinically competent in assessment, treatment, and use of equipment as appropriate specific to clinical area.
Attends and provides continuing education in-servicing.
Serves as mentor for new employee(s) or volunteers.
Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician.
Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner.
To meet patient care needs you may be required to cover other areas of rehab within the limits.
Must be able to demonstrate unique knowledge and skills necessary to provide speech therapy services for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Budget:
Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies.
Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment and equipment.
Other:
Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes.
